Quickstart
Ten minutes from download to the first thing done. You’ll install him, connect the AI you already use, and hand him something real.
Install
- Download troth
Get it from troth.im. It picks the right version for your computer.
- Open it
He opens with his eyes closed and wakes up when he’s ready. Nothing to configure first.
Drag troth into Applications, then open it. He lives in your menu bar from now on.Run the installer. He lives in your system tray from now on.Install the AppImage, .deb or .rpm from the download page. He lives in your system tray from now on. - Say hello
Tell him your name and what you do. That’s his first thing to learn.
Connect your AI
He thinks with the AI you choose. Pick the one you already pay for, and you won’t pay twice.
- Claude or ChatGPT: sign in with your plan.
- Gemini, DeepSeek, Qwen, Kimi, Grok, GLM: paste a key, or one key through OpenRouter.
- Offline: he downloads a model that runs on your computer. Nothing leaves.
You can switch any time. I keep everything I’ve learned, whichever AI I think with.
Hand him the first thing
Say it the way you’d say it to a friend. He asks what he needs, does it, and tells you when it’s done.

Press ⌥ Space anywhere to call him, or click his face in the menu bar.
